About the procedure
what is vaser liposuction?
Vaser liposuction is a less invasive procedure compared to traditional liposuction. Vaser stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance, meaning that fat cells are loosened by intense reverberating sound waves. In any one surgical procedure, vaser liposuction can safely:
✔ remove up to 4 litres of body fluid
✔ remove up to 4% of entire body weight
✔ remove up to 6kg of body fat
How does vaser liposuction work?
The area to be treated is numbed with local anaesthetic. Once numbed, the surgeon makes minor incisions and inserts a long thin cannula. Pulsing ultrasound waves are distributed via the cannula which vibrate strongly to liquify the fat cells in between muscles and tissue. Fat cells are removed, and incisions are closed. You should expect some pain, swelling & discomfort after the procedure but this dissipates and you should feel comfortable around 6 weeks.
Who is an ideal candidate for vaser liposuction?
You are an ideal candidate for vaser liposuction if you:
✔ are close to your goal weight
✔ have stubborn fatty pockets that refuse to budge, no matter how much you diet or exercise
✔ desire a more toned and contoured look
✔ have good skin elasticity. Any loose skin removal will need to be combined with another surgery, such as an abdominoplasty, to ensure you get the aesthetic you’re seeking
✔ want to improve your appearance and increase your confidence
✔ have good overall health

Liposuction has come a long way since the 1920s when French surgeon, Charles Dujarier, first came up with the idea. Liposuction, also known as lipectomy or lipoplasty, is a technique where stubborn fat is surgically removed from the body. Vaser liposuction is a revolutionary form of body contouring, first used in the 2000s, that specifically targets fat cells without disrupting other body tissue.
Due to its less invasive nature, vaser liposuction results in less blood loss compared to traditional types of liposuction, which is why it is one of the safest and most common cosmetic surgeries. No matter how much we diet or exercise, sometimes we can’t get rid of stubborn fat pockets. Vaser liposuction is designed specifically for those obstinate areas to restore a slimmer, contoured silhouette.
Liposuction is a commonly performed cosmetic procedure and the VASER technique has been in use for over 15 years. VASER liposuction has been proven to be safe and it causes minimal side effects. It has also been shown to cause less blood loss than traditional liposuction, especially when larger areas are being treated.
