Procedure

The objective of an eyebrow transplant is to permanently restore or enhance the brow by implanting healthy hair follicles. You will have an initial consultation to determine the type of eyebrow and desired result you are aiming for.

Your eyebrow hair transplant procedure will take place under local aesthetic. Hair grafts will be extracted one by one from the discrete donor area located at the back of your head.

Your surgeon will transplant each individual hair into the eyebrow line, to create the chosen shape.

There may be some bruising and swelling post operation, however this should disappear within a few days.

Eyebrow transplants involve a procedure similar to that of a hair transplant. The process works by taking donor hair from an area of healthy, dense hair, (usually the back of the scalp) and grafting it into the eyebrows to create the desired shape and make them fuller.

At Asthetica, we use the FUE hair transplant technique, which involves transplanting the hairs individually from the donor area. As one of the least invasive procedures, the FUE technique offers a number of benefits, including:

Local anaesthetic is applied to both the donor area and recipient area, to prevent pain during the harvesting and implantation of your hair follicles.

Eyebrow transplant recovery time is typically 7 days, however most patients can resume normal activities after 3 to 5 days.

Eyebrow transplant side effects can include:

• soreness, itching, and swelling

• inflammation of hair follicles (folliculitis)

• redness and bleeding

• crust or pus drainage around the surgical sites

• numbness around the surgical sites

Following surgery, small crusts will appear around each hair and then fall off, leaving pink spots. These spots usually fade within a few weeks.
