About the berd transplant procedure

Advancements in technology have led to a significant rise in beard transplants, especially in Turkey, over the past few years.

There is no getting away from it; if you’re not the clean-shaven type of guy, then facial hair (or rather the quality of it) plays a key part in a man’s confidence and sense of style.

The quality and density of the hair is often determined by genetics and some men find it hard to achieve the look they want, which is where beard transplants in Turkey come into play.

What are some of the causes of beard hair loss?

  • Skin disease
  • Trauma and burns
  • Congenital hair deficiency

BEARD TRANSPLANT IN TURKEY PROCEDURE

Beard transplant surgery is similar to the micro FUE technique and allows for a fully sculpted beard to be created. The surgeon examines the recipient area to establish the number of grafts that will be required from the donor area and establishes suitability. The correct number of hair grafts are then extracted and transplanted to the recipient area one-by-one. The procedure is performed under a local anaesthetic.

The following day you will receive a complimentary PRP treatment and both the facial and donor areas will be carefully cleansed to assist with healing.

There may be some post-operative swelling, however, this will disappear over a couple of days and within a week you will begin to see natural-looking results.

Package available

This procedure is available in the ‘Bring Your Mates’ Group Hair Restoration Package and Couples Cosmetic Package packages, which includes other procedures commonly performed together.

Inclusions

While each package is bespoke, the cost of accommodation, the procedure and aftercare are all included in our quote.

FAQs

Beard transplants work by transplanting hair follicles from an area of the body with healthy hair (the donor area) and transplanting them to your jawline, or wherever you want your beard or moustache to grow (the recipient area).

At Asthetica, we use the FUE beard transplant technique, which involves harvesting follicular units one at a time from the donor area. This technique is one of the least invasive procedures and offers a shorter healing process.

Local anaesthetic is applied to both the donor area and recipient area, meaning you will feel neither the harvesting nor the implantation of your hair follicles.

A beard transplant generally takes about a week to 10 days to heal.

Following the procedure, you may experience soreness, swelling, itchiness and redness around the treated area. The area may also feel numb. These symptoms should subside within a week.

10 days post-surgery your transplanted grafts should be permanently fixed so you can start shaving normally and trimming your new beard. However, it’s important to follow your beard transplant aftercare instructions carefully and protect your beard from damage.

Potential beard transplant side effects include:

• soreness, itching, and swelling

• inflammation of hair follicles (folliculitis)

• redness and bleeding

• crust or pus drainage around the surgical sites

• numbness around the surgical sites

Less common beard transplant risks include:

• infection

• cyst formation

• visible scarring

Beard transplant recovery time is generally a week to 10 days.

Yes, a beard transplant is a safe, effective procedure with a proven history.

However, as with any medical procedure, there are associated risks.

Many operators base their beard transplant costs on a per graft basis, which can ultimately become expensive. At Asthetica, however, we charge a flat fee, no matter how many grafts you require.

Our beard transplant prices are extremely competitive, however they do vary according to your custom package inclusions.

Beard transplant costs in Turkey are 30-50% less than what you’d pay in the UK or Australia, even when factoring in the additional travel and accommodation costs. Not only is Turkey cheap, but it is also the world’s most popular destination for beard transplants.

While Turkey is our number 1 destination for any form of hair transplant, we do understand that you may have an alternative destination in mind. We also partner with leading surgeons in Thailand, South Africa, Indonesia and Malaysia.

With the right surgeon and proper aftercare, a FUE hair treatment can last a lifetime.

The areas where hair follicles are taken from are not genetically programmed to drop out, so as a general rule, FUE results are permanent.

However, in rare cases, new hair growth may slow several years down the track, when additional ‘touch up’ surgery may be required.
